Mike in Germany - World Cup 06
June 4th, 2006
Only 11 days until the summer adventure begins. Richard and I still haven't sat down and gone over the details, but we are both busy trying to clear our work schedules so we can enjoy the cup.
We have a lot to look forward to, visiting friends, seeing cities and sites, and oh yes, going to those soccer matches or watching others in bars and town squares.
Matches with tickets in hand
USA vs Czech - thanks to US Soccer which sent us these tickets just last week, months after we arranged for our airfare, we will not be able to get to this match since it occurs three days before we leave boston
Brazil vs Australia - Our first match is in Munich where we will be based. Ronaldo, Rolandinho, Carlos, Kaka' vs those aussies. This should be a great game
USA vs Ghana - We travel to Nurmberg for this match - it will either be extremely important or a throw away, but we will be there to support the red white and blue either way
Round of 16 - Hopefully the usa gets the job done and we will travel to see them play either Brazil or Australia/ japan. If we were to win the group we would avoid the Brazillians, but if the US is go deep in the tournament they will have to beat the all comers, so might as well see them now
Quarterfinals - Our last game if the US advances.
We are waiting to hear from FIFA on one more set of conditional tickets, at this point in time if they are issued we will have to pick them up in Germany
So now it is time to find clothes to wear, baggage to take and read up on all the teams and sights we want to see.
